Above the Curve Neon Collection Reviews & Swatches

Hey there everyone! Sorry I meant to have this posted yesterday, time is just not on my side lately. >_< I hope you guys understand though. :) I'm doing my best to catch up with the craziness the world gave me earlier in the week. :P

Neon Green is a bright green with blue shimmer. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Like all the polishes in this collection, the colors are NEON and my camera wasn't too happy picking them up. >_< The shimmer is a really unique in all of them as well. :) Formula was a little tricky and I needed to use a mixture of thinner and thicker coats and wait for each coat to dry throughly, before applying the next or I experienced patchiness. It did have a great dry time though! The color isn't as dark as my camera liked to show, just an awesome neon green. :)
Neon Orange has gold and fuchsia shimmer in a vivid orange base. Here is 3 coats without top coat.
Formula was similar to Neon Green and again my camera wasn't cooperating with picking up the color accurately. >_< It's a tad darker orange than my photos and the shimmer really provides a pop to an already bright color! :)
Neon Pink is an intense pink with blue shimmer. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.
Neon Pink is a definite "Barbie Pink"! Formula was the best and was an easy 3 thin coats with perfect coverage. The blue shimmer, even though you can't see from my darn pictures, adds an awesome "glow" to it. :)
Neon Red contains blue and fuchsia shimmer in a vibrant red-orange colored base. All nails are 3 coats with no top coat.
This color is really unique and pretty. It's not quite red and not quite orange, a nice in between! :) Formula was easier to work with and only required 1 thicker coat after 2 thin coat to provide even coverage. Even with a thicker coat, it had a great dry time and like all these polishes, except the holo top coat, has an almost glossy finish so you can choose to use a top coat or not. :)
Neon Yellow is a bright yellow with blue and green shimmer. Here is 4 coats with top coat.
Unfortunately, I didn't have an easy application with this color. :/ It took 4 thicker coats to get even coverage. I think it would have worked better layered over a white base color instead of building it up on it's own. I actually own another neon yellow and have the same problem with not being able to build it up easily so I don't think it's this polish, just the over all color. If you are look for a highlighter yellow with the added spark of some shimmer this is a great polish though! ;)
Everyday is a Holo-Day! is a holographic topper. For these photos I used all the colors in the collection in a gradient with 1 coat of Everyday is a Holo-Day! on top and top coat.
Holo top coats are always fun and this one is no different! :) It had an easy application and gave out tons of holo in just one coat! I thought about apply 1 coat after I swatched all the other colors, but I liked the gradient idea more. Now only it is blinding because of the neons, it has a holographic shine to blind you even more! :P

This set is available right now for $40 (for full size) or $20 (for mini) through Above the Curve's BigCartel store.  Even with the sale, Above the Curve still donates $1 from each full size bottle to Shriner's Hospitals For Children! Elevation Polish The Geo Duo- Dykh-Tau & Dzhangi-Tau

Hey an early post, for once! :P This is the last set of swatches I had saved on my computer before the week went insane on me, so between tonight and tomorrow I have a crazy catch up to do! :P This set from Elevation Polish is soon to be discontinued and I thought it would be a good idea to post it now, in case anyone was interested and wanted to snatch it up during the next restocks. :)

Dykh-Tau is a greenish sea glass with sparse holographic shimmer. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
The holographic shimmer is very light and the camera I use for hand shots was not wanting to pick it up. I was able to capture it in my close up shots though. :) The color is very pretty on it's own and will work great with other glitters, not just Dzhangi-Tau. ;)
Dzhangi-Tau has a teal-ish shimmer base with various white hexes, squares and sparse matte light teal circle glitters. Here is 1 coat over 2 coats of Dykh-Tau with top coat.
Even though Dzhangi-Tau is a much lighter glitter mix then I would normally like, I do love it because of it's strong shimmery base. The combination of Dzhangi-Tau and Dykh-Tau is over all a bit too light for my tastes, so of course I had to try it over a brighter color. ;)
In these photos I used 1 coat of Dykh-Tau over 2 coats of Elevation Polish I got the axe with top coat.
I think I prefer this combination more! :P I like how the light teal circle glitters stand out over I got the axe. ;)
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, if you are interested in the duo make sure to grab it in the Elevation Polish BigCartel store during the September 7th (at 9 PM CST) or 22nd (at 9 AM CST) restock. It will be discontinued after those restocks. For more information about restocks and new colors on Lulu's blog

Enchanted Polish June 2013 & July 2013

Late posts are this week's theme, I suppose! :P I am happy to report I have a lens for my camera now, so I can start tackling the massive to swatch pile I have built up in the past few days. :X For now I have a short and sweet post with 2 polishes from Enchanted Polish! :)

June 2013 is a deep coral-red holographic with pink shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
I'm unsure how I feel about this color, honestly. It's nice, but I don't know if it's something that is "me". It will probably stick around in my collection to just see if I can warm up to
July 2013 is a jade green holo with pink shimmer. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.
This color is definitely me! ;)I wasn't able to capture the pink shimmer well, I promise it is there though! :)
Unfortunately these colors were limited edition and may not be brought back in the future. You can still find other colors for sale, when a restock comes along ;), through EnchantedPolish.comMei Mei's Signatures and Norway Nails. Follow Enchanted Polish on FacebookTwitter and Instagram or sign up for her newsletter, for information on restocks and new colors.

Lacquerhead Polish Talk Nerdy to Me, This Will Be My Last Tattoo & What Happened Last Night? Reviews & Swatches

Hi there everyone! I know this is a late night post, sorry! >_< I did have something else planned for yesterday, but my darling son decided to break the lens on one of my cameras (the main one I use for swatching) and was just so frustrated I didn't want to do anything. On the bright side my computer is fixed, I have some swatches already done that didn't get lost on it and I should have a new lens coming in the mail tomorrow :) I'm a little ready for this week to be over with though because it hasn't been a great one starting out! :P
Enough with my rambling on to some awesome polishes from Lacquerhead Polish! :)

Talk Nerdy to Me contains black and white glitters accented with various other colored metallic and holo glitters. Shown is 1 coat over 2 coats of Enchanted Polish July 2013 with top coat.
What a total glitter bomb this polish is! No need at all for fishing out any glitter, even the stars, and it had a great formula; not too thick and not too thin, just perfect. :) Clearly Talk Nerdy to Me would work over any color, so the sky's the limit on what you choose!
This Will Be My Last Tattoo is a mixture of black, white and cherry dots along with black, white and cherry shreds. All nails are 2 coats of This Will Be My Last Tattoo over 3 coats of Takko Lacquer Strangely Delicious RVMP.
Circle glitter and bar glitter, ahoy! I think everyone says their "last" tattoo will be their last and it never is! :P Formula was a bit thicker, yet I didn't need to fish for any of the larger red glitters and it dried quickly. :)
What Happened Last Night? has a white crelly base with blue and lavender glitter, matte purple hearts and a ultra fine holographic purple glitter. Here is 3 coats with top coat.
The real question is, what did happen last night? :P If it's this pretty, I'm ok with it! ;) Formula was easy to work with. The first coat was a tad streaky, though it evened up perfectly in the second and third coat. You could mostly likely get away with 2 thicker coats, but I like my thinner coats. ;)

Random Giveaway!

Happy Monday! I'm going to try to do a different post later on today. My computer has decided once again it is not my friend, so I'm having to use the husband's computer, which is hard for me to work on because it puts me out of my element. :P And that also means the week's worth of swatches I did a few days ago aren't at my fingertips currently. >_< They should be safe though when my computer is repaired. *crosses fingers* So to buy me some time till I have my other post complete, I thought I would run a random giveaway! :)
Everything will be done via Rafflecopter. There will be 1 winner and this IS open internationally! This giveaway will end September 4th at 9:00 PM PST. The winner will be announced here and on Facebook. The winner will have 48 hours to respond to me or a new winner will be chosen in their place.I am not responsible for lost/damaged deliveries. All products are new and unused.
If you cannot enter using Rafflecopter please leave me a comment and/or email with your information and I can enter it manually for you. You can also try using this link to enter if Rafflecopter is not appearing.
Good luck!!
