Above the Curve Falling for Autumn Collection + Diva P. Reviews & Swatches

Hey there everyone! I know I've been slacking lately >_< My immune system has decided it's ok for me to get sick. Not ok! And on top of that, we have *hopefully* found a place to move. Not sure if I have mentioned it or not since it's "been in the works" for what feels like forever now, but I am moving from AR to OK and it's been one heck of a time trying to find a place. I'm trying to stay hopeful this place will work out and we can finally get moving...again. :P
Today tonight, rather, I have some gorgeous new colors from Above the Curve. If you don't remember, Above the Curve donates $1 from each full size bottle to Shriner's Hospitals For Children. You can have pretty polish and help out others at the same time. :)

Akiko is a rusty, pumpkin orange holographic. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Akiko is Japanese for bright, autumn child and I think the name is very fitting for this polish! :) It's a perfect autumn shade, as are all of these polishes, and had a great formula!
Anona has deep olive green base with gold shimmer and micro-flakes. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.
On the bottle it says Anona was Roman goddess for the harvest. Google says the spelling should be Annona, but I found a few sites that list is Anona; I can't say which is correct. :P Nevertheless, Anona is a lovely "harvest" green and again had a problem free formula. :)
Aphaea contains a pink flash and very faint scattered holographic in a dusty grey lilac base. These photos show 2 coats with top coat.
My camera didn't want to pick up the pink flash or the scattered holographic finish. :/ It is there, but the holo is very light compared to the flash. I like this color even if it had neither, though. :) I thought I would need 3 coats because it is a lighter color, but had great coverage with just 2 coats!
Scarlet is a rich cranberry red with scattered holographic. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
Reminds you of cranberry relish, doesn't it?! Except for no cranberry relish I've ever eaten has sparkles! :P Another perfect autumn shade with a great formula to boot! :)
Diva P. is described as a strong holographic with blue-green fleck simmer in a clear base. For these photos I layered it over the above colors with top coat.
I couldn't make up my mind which polish I wanted to layer this over...so I went with all of them! ;) I also can't say which is my favorite because I liked them all! :P I haven't seen anything like Diva P. on the market, but it's definitely something I like! As always formula was perfection and you get out plenty of holo and flecks with just 1 coat! :)
The Falling for Autumn collection will be available soon through Above the Curve's BigCartel store. Diva P. is available now in a set with 2 other "flecked" holo toppers! Make sure to follow Above The Curve on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

Shimmer Polish Airriann, Karen, Tracy and Wendy Reviews & Swatches

Hey everyone! Of course, as I assumed no extra post from yesterday. >_< Yesterday was more insane than normal and ended with my son spilling an ounce of loose glitter all over my carpet, so that was...fun. Let's try to aim for an extra post for today...maybe? :P
Anyways I have some more awesome glitter mixes from Shimmer Polish to share with you all. As always from Shimmer Polish, these polishes all had a perfect formula! :)

Airriann is a described as a pale pink glitter mix. Shown is 1 coat over 2 coats of Elevation Polish Epidote with top coat.
I think combo goes together pretty well, don't you? Sometimes it's good to follow pairings from the color wheel because they just work. ;)
Karen contains a mixture of lavender, plum, silver and pink glitters in various shades, sizes and shapes. For these photos I used Karen in a gradient over 3 coats of Above the Curve Aphaea.
This turned out super girly, and even though it's far from the normal for me...I love it! :P
Tracy is listed as a tarnished gold holo glitter mix. All nails are 2 coats of Lumina Lacquer Homesick at Space Camp with Tracy used as a gradient.
My high school colors were gold and blue, so I think that's why my mind put these 2 polishes together. Once again though, they work great together! :)
Wendy has a various shapes and sizes of purple, copper, silver and blue glitters. These photos are 1 coat of Wendy over 2 coats of Elevation Polish The Med.
Over The Med, Wendy really adds to the mermaid looks. :) The glitters remind me of little scales. ;)

Above the Curve Neon Collection Reviews & Swatches

Hey there everyone! Sorry I meant to have this posted yesterday, time is just not on my side lately. >_< I hope you guys understand though. :) I'm doing my best to catch up with the craziness the world gave me earlier in the week. :P

Neon Green is a bright green with blue shimmer. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Like all the polishes in this collection, the colors are NEON and my camera wasn't too happy picking them up. >_< The shimmer is a really unique in all of them as well. :) Formula was a little tricky and I needed to use a mixture of thinner and thicker coats and wait for each coat to dry throughly, before applying the next or I experienced patchiness. It did have a great dry time though! The color isn't as dark as my camera liked to show, just an awesome neon green. :)
Neon Orange has gold and fuchsia shimmer in a vivid orange base. Here is 3 coats without top coat.
Formula was similar to Neon Green and again my camera wasn't cooperating with picking up the color accurately. >_< It's a tad darker orange than my photos and the shimmer really provides a pop to an already bright color! :)
Neon Pink is an intense pink with blue shimmer. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.
Neon Pink is a definite "Barbie Pink"! Formula was the best and was an easy 3 thin coats with perfect coverage. The blue shimmer, even though you can't see from my darn pictures, adds an awesome "glow" to it. :)
Neon Red contains blue and fuchsia shimmer in a vibrant red-orange colored base. All nails are 3 coats with no top coat.
This color is really unique and pretty. It's not quite red and not quite orange, a nice in between! :) Formula was easier to work with and only required 1 thicker coat after 2 thin coat to provide even coverage. Even with a thicker coat, it had a great dry time and like all these polishes, except the holo top coat, has an almost glossy finish so you can choose to use a top coat or not. :)
Neon Yellow is a bright yellow with blue and green shimmer. Here is 4 coats with top coat.
Unfortunately, I didn't have an easy application with this color. :/ It took 4 thicker coats to get even coverage. I think it would have worked better layered over a white base color instead of building it up on it's own. I actually own another neon yellow and have the same problem with not being able to build it up easily so I don't think it's this polish, just the over all color. If you are look for a highlighter yellow with the added spark of some shimmer this is a great polish though! ;)
Everyday is a Holo-Day! is a holographic topper. For these photos I used all the colors in the collection in a gradient with 1 coat of Everyday is a Holo-Day! on top and top coat.
Holo top coats are always fun and this one is no different! :) It had an easy application and gave out tons of holo in just one coat! I thought about apply 1 coat after I swatched all the other colors, but I liked the gradient idea more. Now only it is blinding because of the neons, it has a holographic shine to blind you even more! :P

This set is available right now for $40 (for full size) or $20 (for mini) through Above the Curve's BigCartel store.  Even with the sale, Above the Curve still donates $1 from each full size bottle to Shriner's Hospitals For Children! Above The Curve Polish Addiction Collection Reviews & Swatches

Hi there! I have a new brand on the blog today; Above The Curve! Before I jump into these beautiful and perfectly named polishes, I wanted to tell you a little more about this brand. Angel and Shawn, the forces behind Above The Curve, donate $1 of every bottle sold to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. They do this not only because they are awesome, but also to help raise awareness for scoliosis.; as Angel was diagnosed with it as a child. As of June 16th they have raised $1,287 for Shriner's Hospital!
P.S. My camera was a jerk with these polishes and didn't want to capture any of the holo these polishes brought to the table. :( There is holo in all of them, but yeah my camera is a pain in the butt.

Dusty Huntin' is described as a red holo that leans orange and pink with pink, purple, red and orange shimmer. I used 2 coats and no top coat.
This was almost a 1 one coater for me and the overall formula was perfect; it dried quickly and was a great consistency. Even though my camera didn't capture the holo (it is there I swear!) the color is awesome and the added shimmers add even more to it's beauty! :) All the names in this collection put a smile on my face and while I have tried dusty hunting a few times, I have never had any luck finding anything good. >_<
Husbands Just Don't Understand is a teal-ish/forest green with flecks of green and blue shimmer and scattered holo. All nails are 2 coats and no top coat.
Husband don't understand! Haha Mine does to an extent, he just doesn't know why I need every color even when some are close to each other. I just do ok! :P He likes to see when I get new polishes in and tell me his favorites, this color just happened to be his favorite out of this collection. I assume that's because it's the "manliest" one. :P Formula was again perfect and I love the combination of the blue and green shimmer added to the mix! It helps just give it that extra kick! ;) Also, this one again was almost a one coater for me!
Lemming Have It! has a jelly-like purple/blue base with holo and blue flecks. For my photos I used 2 coats and no top coat.
Oh my gosh you guys, you need this polish! Seriously it's no surprise they put "lemming" in the name because it is a must have! The blue flakes stand out very well against the holo and, well, it's purple so it's of course a "need" in my book. ;) Formula again was problem free and almost a one coater!
What No Buy?!?! is a sparkly gold with fine gold holo hexes and scattered holo. Here I used 4 coats with no top coat.
Do people do "no buys" and live to tell the tale? I usually go on "low buys" because I don't have any will power when it comes to pretty things. :X This polish was the sheerest in the collection, but still easy to work with and dried quickly. You will have really bling-tastic nails when you wear this because the combination of holo pigment and holo glitter! ;)

Find these polishes and tons more through Above The Curve's BigCartel store and on Overall Beauty. Make sure to follow Above The Curve on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It's amazing polish and for a good cause, what more reason do you need!
