Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces & Oceanic Forces

Morning everyone! I have another quick post for today. With my little guy's sleep schedule I haven't been able to do a lot of swatching lately, but I'm hoping today I can get a lot done. :)

Cosmic Forces has a dark purple jelly base with lavender holo dots and hex and pink dot glitter. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
So if you remember I posted swatches of Lacquerhead's Polish that are similar to these two, but they are not the same. ;) Lacquerhead Polish's Space Cadet has added squares and lacks the variety of hexes like Cosmic Forces. Nevertheless I love purple and love jellies, so of course I love this! :)
Oceanic Forces contains large turquoise holo dots as well as various sized turquoise holo hexes in a dark teal jelly base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
More squishiness! :P Again this is different from Lacquerhead Polish's Full Tealt in not only the glitter, but Oceanic Forces has a bit deeper jelly base with what seems like a tad more blue. Both are equally awesome and I now know why people are so in love with Emily de Molly polishes! :)

Emily de Molly polishes are available through Etsy and BigCartel, but only if you live within Australia. If you are like me and live outside of Australia, you can find Emily de Molly at Norway Nails, Sally Magpies, and Mei Mei's Signatures. Make sure to follow Emily de Molly on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

CrowsToes & Elevation Polish Collaberative Duo- Too F*%#ing Cold & Too F*%#ing Hot

Hi everyone! I have a quick post with a recently released duo from CrowsToes and Elevation Polish. Now I own quite a few polishes from Elevation Polish, but this is actually my first CrowsToes polish. :)

Too F*%#ing Cold is a blue tinted glitter topper with a complex blend of holographic & iridescent glitters. For this manicure I used 1 coat of Too F*%#ing Cold over 2 coats of Too F*%#ing Hot with top coat.
I love iridescent glitter polishes and this one is no exception. ;) I figured I had to combine the two polishes from this duo together, but I also wanted to put it over something different. :)
For this manicure I layered one coat of Too F*%#ing Cold over 2 coats of Elevation Polish Malaspina Glacier with top coat.
I think I prefer this combination more than Too F*%#ing Cold over Too F*%#ing Hot, thought both are great. :)
Too F*%#ing Hot is a deep red jelly-shimmer with both black and red medium/large flake shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.
Since I prefer to be completely honest about polishes when I blog about them, I will say I'm not really super in love with this color. :/ I was on the fence when first buying it and thought maybe when I had it in person I would come around, but I can't say that rang true. The shimmer is just very subtle and the overall color isn't me.

Both of these polishes are only for sale as a duo and while they are not available through Elevation's BigCartel store anymore, you can find them through Overall Beauty
Other polishes from CrowsToes can be purchased through Overall BeautyNorway Nails and Femme Fatale. Follow CrowsToes on Facebook and check out her blog for new colors coming out.
Find other polishes from Elevation Polish in her BigCartel store. It is stocked every 7th (at 9 PM CST) and 22nd (at 9 AM CST). Find information about restocks and new colors on Lulu's blog

Rain City Lacquer Reviews & Swatches

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! :) I had planned on doing 2 posts over the weekend, but my son decided to revert to his lovely sleep schedule and I was too much of a zombie to focus on doing an extra post. >_< Sorry!

I have a new brand to share with you today though- Rain City Lacquer! Rica, the creative mind behind Rain City Lacquer, based her polishes off Seattle, WA (if you didn't already guess that from the brand's name :P).

Caramel Lac-uccino is a mix of caramel and dark coffee colored glitter in a sheer, shimmery nude base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but this polish looks good enough to drink! And the formula was great! It dried quickly and there was no need for fishing out any glitter. I'm an avid thin coater, so I think if you used a little thicker coats you could get away with 2 coats to become almost opaque. Of course the other option is to layer it over another, which you can do most of Rain City's polishes. :)
Market Bouquet contains a mixture of neon glitters and fine holo glitters in a sheer pink, shimmering base. Shown is 2 coats of Market Bouquet over 2 coats of Studio M. Thunderbolt with top coat.
Market Bouquet definitely reminds me of bouquet of flowers. :) All the glitters go together perfectly and the the larger ones really make a nice pop. Formula was problem free and I had no problem getting out any of the larger or shaped glitters.
Mint Rainier has a shimmery mint green base with aqua and periwinkle glitters. Here is 3 coats with top coat.
Eeep this is a beautiful, mermaid-esque polish! I know the inspiration for this polish was Mount Rainier, but I think it has some mermaid qualities about it too. ;) Again a perfect formula and similar to Caramel Lac-uccino, I think you could get away with 2 thicker coats if you don't want to do 3 thin ones like I did. :)
Pink Rain contains a mixture of iridescent peach, matte pink, and neon pink glitter in a clear base. All nails are 3 coats of New York Summer Hot Sky Blue with 2 coats of Pink Rain with top coat.
If only it really rained glitter! :P While this polish is a somewhat simple mix, I think it's still something nice and fun with you are looking to kick up a basic polish. Formula was a little thicker than all the other, though still easy to work with and no need for fishing.
Pretty Purple Rain Boots is described as a deep purple shimmering lacquer loaded with fine purple glitter and purple holographic glitter. This is 1 coat of Pretty Purple Rain over 2 coats of Illamasqua Collide with top coat.
I think I need some pretty purple rain boots, especially if they look like this! :P As with all of these polishes, application was a breeze! :)

You can purchase Rain City Lacquer through her BigCartel storefront. Full size bottles are $10 and minis are $5 (Caramel Lac-uccion is only available in full size). Follow Rain City Lacquer on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Lynnderella Twinset- 7 Minutes in Heaven & Girl-Boy Party

I have so many polishes to share, I'm going to try to post through the weekend! :)

7 Minutes in Heaven contains neon pink and blue glitters accented with cyan and fuchsia multiglitter in an aqua-shimmered clear base. Shown is 2 coats over 2 coats of Pure Ice Kiss Me Here.
Ok not going to lie here, I picked my base color on purpose because the names together made me giggle like a fool! :P But hey the combination is awesome! ;)
Girl-Boy Party is a multi-glitter mix of reds, pinks, blues and cyans of assorted sizes, shapes and finishes in a clear base. All nails are 1 coat of Girl-Boy Party over 2 coats of Wet n Wild The Clock Strikes Orange.
If you are wondering how Girl-Boy Party compares to Boy Girl Party, I posted a close up shot comparison below. They are indeed different from one another and you need both! ;)
Of course I had to layer these 2 polishes together! ;) For this manicure I started with 2 coats of Girl-Boy Party and added 1 coat of 7 Minutes in Heaven.
If you try this combo out make sure you don't blind anyone with all the glitter and shimmer! :P

Unfortunately, I believe this set is already sold out on Lynnderella.com, but it will be for sale through Norway Nails and Glitter Connect soon! Make sure to follow the Lynnderella fan pages on FacebookTwitterInstagramPinterest and Tumblr

L.A. Girl D.I.Y. Nail Kit in Fabulous

Happy Friday! I picked up this kit a few days ago at a local chain called Gordmans and was eager to try it out. This kit is available in 4 different combinations of colors, you can see the other 3 on Cherry Culture's site. I picked up this combination of colors because it was something I normally wouldn't. :P
A quick look at the box, instructions and ingredients. You can click on the photos to enlarge them :)
First up is a bright-tealish creme. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.
This color was a tad streaky in one coat, but when over another color it only took 1 coat. It's a really pretty blue that leans a little teal.
Next we have a chocolate brown creme. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Another great formula and almost a 1 one coater!
The third polish is a gold glitter based polish with smaller silver glitter and medium sized silver holographic glitter. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
This polish was very dry when I opened it, so I had to add a few drops of thinner to make it workable. After that though it was smooth sailing. Since it is a glitter packed polish you will need a good top coat to smooth it out.
The last polish is a nude creme with a hint of shimmer. All nails are 3 coats with no top coat.
This polish was a tad streaky and I did need extra coats to smooth it all out. The shimmer was really hard to capture because it is very subtle, but my close up photos caught some of it. :)
So being this a nail art kit, I had to do some nail art! :) For this manicure I started with the brown polish in this kit and added one coat of the gold glitter. I used the included brush to drag the gold glitter down into a gradient.

Top is L.A. Girl stickers vs random ones I had in my stash

So now I'm sure you are wondering why I didn't try chevron stripes with stickers included, well because they are a pain in the butt! They are too large to do more than one per nail, unless you have very long nails, and they are too stiff to create clean lines with. :/ Honestly I got so frustrated trying to get them to look right (I did 4 failed manicures with them) that I gave up trying any other art with this kit. >_<

Overall, I do like this kit minus the stickers, and I'm happy I went with this color range. I paid $3.99 for this kit (before tax) and think that was reasonable for everything included.

Purchase L.A. Girl products in store at places like Rite Aid and Gordmans or online through L.A. Girl's website (this kit is not available through their store though) and Cherry Culture. Follow L.A. Girl on Facebook and Twitter
