KBShimmer Reviews & Swatches

Hi everyone! Still trying to catch up on everything I've missed on posting due to being sick, so a Sunday post it is!  :) Hopefully this sickness is leaving my household soon because now the husband has caught it and I'm hoping I don't catch it for a third time! >_< Anyways, KBshimmer recently released a huge collection of polishes for their Winter 2013 collection that included a total of 22 polishes! I don't have all of those polishes to share with you today, but I do have some of them! :)

I Only Have Ice For You is described as shimmering white flakes are set in a clear base. This polish is a collaboration with Chalkboard Nails. Shown is 1 coat over 1 coat over Shade Shifter and 3 coats of Plum Tuckered Out.
I know this is quite a combo to start out with! :P All the polishes seemed to work so well together, so I just went with it. They were amazing in person and very galaxy-esque. I know a lot of people hear 5 coats of polish and run in fear, but have no fear KBShimmer's polishes dry quickly and thin coats are my thing. :P
Myth You Lots is a  multi-chrome that shifts depending on the angle and the light, from blue, to purple, to red, and more with a linear holo effect. Here is 1 coat over 3 coats of Teal Another Tail and 2 coats over bare nail on my pinky nail.
I know a ton of other great bloggers have shown this polish over black and over bare nail, so I decided to mix it up and put it over another awesome polish from KBShimmer. ;) It created a fun mermaid-like effect! :) Formula was of course problem free!
Plum Tuckered Out contains a blue shimmer in a rich, plum base with blue undertones. This polish is a collaboration with Pointless Cafe. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
While this polish looks great at 2 coats, I preferred it at 3 because of how nicely the color deepened with an extra coat. I love purple, so this is of course a winner in my book! ;) Formula was great yet again!
Shade Shifter is a multi-chrome that changes from cyan, to blue, to red orange, to purple, and more. Here is 1 coat over Plum Tuckered Out.
Again, I decided to mix it up and put this color over something over than black. ;) I think it worked out pretty well again! :) I love these duo chromes because they look amazing at so many different angles! :D
Snow Flaking Way has a deep indigo purple jelly base with sliver holographic snowflakes and violet and sky blue holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Purple isn't normally something you see in a holiday collection, but I love it! The snowflakes, while listed as being difficult to get out, gave me no problems whatsoever. I was able to get one out for each nail and even pulled out more from the bottle than that. There is a snowflake on my index nail, but it got covered up with the second and third coats. ;) Everything about this polish is awesome!
Strung Out is a black jelly polish with circle “light” glitters in metallic gold, silver, green, blue, red and fuchsia. This polish is a collaboration with Candy Coated Tips. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
Application was a bit tricky with Strung Out and I think I should have layered it over black instead of building it up on it's own. I never thought I would say this, but it had too much glitter! :P It made it harder to build up the base color without getting tons of glitter with each coat. I do like the overall look though; just like christmas lights at night! :)
Urban Camo is a multi-chrome that shifts from a pistachio green, to a bright green, to silver, to a soft pink almost lavender. These photos are 1 coat over 2 coats of KBShimmer The Grape Beyond.
Eeep butterfly nails! I definitely recommend if you are looking to mix up using multi or duo-chromes, layering them over another color! This was my favorite combo I came up with and I couldn't stop starring at them! :P
Will Yule Marry Me? is a navy blue creally with sparkling silver holo glitters. This polish is a collaboration with The Nail Network. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
Chelsea from The Nail Network wanted a polish to represent her getting engaged last Christmas Eve and I know how exciting that can be because I too got engaged on Christmas Eve 2 years ago. :) I'm always a sucker for anything with circle glitter and because of the meaning behind this polish, I wholeheartedly think everyone should own it! :P Formula was easy to work with and I didn't have any problem getting out the larger circle glitters.
