Maybelline Color Show Sequins Ruby Rhinestones & Sapphire Masquerade

I picked up 4 of these Maybelline polishes a few weeks ago and have been meaning to post them. I swatched this post a little out of order, doing Sapphire Masquerade first. I almost just threw the towel in on swatching the others after Sapphire Masquerade, it was really that bad. I'm happy I didn't give up and will have the other two colors I purchased, Lavender Sparks and Sea-Quins, swatched tomorrow. :)

Ruby Rhinestones is a red sheer base with various sized pink and red glitter and micro black glitter. All nails have 3 coats, with both Seche Vite and Hong Kong Girl Top Coat on top.
Formula of Ruby Rhinestones was better than Sapphire Masquerade, still not amazing though. While I didn't add thinner to this polish, I would reccommend it if you aren't used to dealing with thicker glitter polish. With 2 coats of top coats, Ruby Rhinestones smoothed out ok, not like you would except with 2 coats of top coat though. The color is nice, I'm not normally a fan of reds, I just picked this up on whim. It is nice to have with Christmas coming up though because it's a nice cheery red! :)
Note: My camera wouldn't pick this color up correctly, the base is a deep purple in real life and not blue like my photos.
Sapphire Masquerade has a deep purple base with medium sized fuchsia and lavender colored hexes, small lavender hexes and micro lavender glitter. I used 2 coats of Sapphire Masquerade on all nails with a top coat of both Seche Vite and Hong Kong Girl Top Coat.
Formula was awful; thick, clumpy and just down right a pain in the butt to use. I added thinner and while that helped a little, it was still a struggle to use. After 2 coats of top coat it still had a very bumpy feeling to it and without top coat it was really rough to the touch. I don't own a bottle of Gelous, this maybe a sign though I need to pick one up though, so I can't say it that would have helped smooth it out or not. Despite it's horrible formula, the color is really gorgeous and gives off a "glowing" effect. I just can't really say I completely love it because of the formula. :/

Maybelline Color Show Sequins are available at mass market retailers like Walmart, Target and Walgreens. I picked up my bottles at Walmart and they were shoved in the back of another Maybelline Color Show display, so if you can't seem to find it near you check in other displays. ;) These are limited edition, if you are interested in purchasing them I would pick them up now. Well, pick up some of them except Sapphire Masquerade maybe. :P Find Maybelline on Facebook here
