Sorry for the late post! My little one has had more energy than I can even imagine having, so I spent most the day in a nice zombie-like state. Velvet Orchid has a orchid matte base with a subtle copper shimmer. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
While I used 3 coats, but I think if you have shorter nails and use thicker coats you could get away with 2 coats pretty easy. :) Formula was great to work with and it dried quickly. The color just reminds me of something nice, subtle and classy. It also reminds me of something that would be perfect if you need your nails to be "work appropriate". :D
Here it is with top coat. :)
I prefer Velvet Orchid in it's matte state, but with top coat the shimmer does come out a little more. The shimmer is very subtle, to the point my pictures couldn't capture it, but it is there. :)
As I mentioned above, this polish part of the prize from the giveaway I'm running with Silly Bee's Chickadees. Another part of the giveaway is a set of Jamberry Wraps, so Melissa sent along some sets for me to play with. I chose to use the print "Sweet Symphony" for an accent nail with Velvet Orchid because they looked pretty and vintagey together! ;)
