Zoya Magical PixieDust Collection Reviews & Swatches

I can officially say hooray for 3 posts in a row and no troubles afoot! *knock on wood* :P Today I have the 3 new Zoya PixieDusts. These are a bit different from the normal PixieDusts, in that they have added holographic glitters to give them some "magic"! :)

Cosmo is described as a silver crystal sparkle, textured PixieDust with mega hex iridescent particles. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
For some reason this was the best formula of the three. It wasn't thick and was generally easy to work with. Like all textures, the second coat took a little longer to dry though not terribly long. Overall I like this color with an without top coat.
These next photos show Cosmo with top coat.
Lux is a light pink texture with added hexagon glitters. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.
Lux was a little thicker than Cosmo, but not to the point I needed to thin it for application. I'm not a huge fan of this color with and without top coat, only because it just doesn't work with my skin tone very well. For ladies with a darker complexion, I think it would be amazing! :)
The following 2 photos show Lux with top coat.
Vega is listed by Zoya as a blue opal sparkle, textured PixieDust with Mega Hex Iridescent Particles. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
For whatever reason Vega was the thickest of the three polishes. To the point I needed to add thinner to be able to use it. If you've read my blog at all you know I like blues, but I just really wasn't a fan of Vega without top coat. It clashes with my skin tone and makes it look sickly. :( With top coat though, it's very beautiful!
These next photos show Vega with top coat.
The other day while I was out and about I came across these reusable nail stencils and thought I would give them a try with these new PixieDusts! The photo above and below show 2 coats of Lux with top coat and triangles done with Vega with no top coat. It didn't turn out exactly like I had hoped. It's something simple and fun, no less. :)

Overall I can't say I'm a fan of these in their intended finish. I do love Cosmo with top coat more than anything though! If you are looking to add top coat to them I would suggest using a thicker top coat to make it a quicker process. I personally used 1 coat of Lynnderella Glitter Tamer and finished it off with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to get a nice, glassy finish. If you don't own something like Glitter Tamer I think Gelous with a coat of Seche Vite would work well.
These are also a bit rougher than normal PixieDust polishes, not too terrible but enough to notice. Removal wasn't nearly as tough as I thought it would be either; just a little more scrubbing than you would do with a normal PixieDust.
