Initial Lacquer Spring Collection 2014 Reviews & Swatches

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fun weekend! :) My little one enjoyed the aquarium, but he was upset when he learned he couldn't actually go swimming in the tanks. Haha
Today I have Initial Lacquer's new collection for spring to show off! I will give a fair warning that my camera wasn't able to completely capture everything some of these polishes had to offer. :( But they are beautiful none the less, no matter what my camera thinks. :P
Press Sample

Initial Lacquer Above the Clouds Swatch
Above the Clouds has a light gray base with blue shimmer flash and mid density of holographic finish. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.

Love this polish! This is one of the many that my camera couldn't capture completely. :/ The holographic finish is pretty light, but it is visible I promise! If nothing else the blue shimmer is pretty obvious in my pictures, I hope! Overall formula was great and easy to work with. :)

Initial Lacquer Circle of Love Swatch
Circle of Love is described as a light pink crelly base with with matte glitters and blue flakies. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
Yet again my camera was not my friend for this polish. :( You can see in the photo below the blue flakies within the polish bottle. They were visible in person, even though my camera though otherwise. They add a nice pop to the softness of the polish overall. The formula was a little on the thicker side, though still easy to work with.

Last Day of Winter contains a variety of gray matter, white matte and holographic silver glitters in a light crelly blue base. These photos show 2 coats with top coat.

I hope the last day of winter is soon! :P I'm ready to break out some shorts and be able to go outside without a coat. ;) The formula of Last Day of Winter was on the thicker side, similar to Circle of Love. I do think the base is a little more opaque than it should be, so that the holographic glitters can really shine though. I do think the grays pop nicely with the blue base though. :)

Initial Lacquer Love Me Some S'mores Swatch
Love Me Some S'mores has a chocolate brown base with a variety of red, gold and silver glitters. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.

Who doesn't like s'mores and this polish does remind me of a yummy s'more! Unfortunately this polish was very thick, to the point I needed to add thinner to use it.  After a few drops of thinner, it was easy to work with and the glitters came out problem free. :)
Initial Lacquer Lucky Me Swatch
Lucky Me! is described as a light mint crelly with gold shimmer base plus matte glitters. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.

Yet again, you have reached a polish my camera couldn't fully capture. >_< The gold shimmer is pretty visible in person, I think set against the mint base it was just too much for my camera to handle. :P Formula was easy to work with and it had a quick dry time. The gold shimmer with the base color is really something else, in a good way! ;)
Initial Lacquer Lucky Me Swatch
Initial Lacquer Radiant Swatch
Radiant contains various blue, purple, red and silver glitters in a clear base. All nails are 1 coat dabbed over 3 coats of Above the Clouds.
Initial Lacquer Radiant Swatch
I always love seeing the blue glitter Initial Lacquer uses pop up in new polishes! :) Radiant is no different! Formula was a little on the thicker side, so I went with the dabbing technique for application. It still dried quickly and is super fun! :D
Initial Lacquer Radiant Swatch
Initial Lacquer Viola Swatch
Viola contains various pink, blue, silver and purple glitters in a purple jelly base. These photos show 2 coats with coat.

Another polish I love! It has a great depth to it with the glitters and the purple jelly base is just gorgeous! You won't have any problem getting out glitters as you can see. :P The formula was great and easy to work with. :)

Shimmer Polish Reviews & Swatches Part 5

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! :) I've been busy swatching trying to catch up, so expect some double posting in the next week. ;) First up I have more Shimmer Polish swatches to share. :)
As always, these had a great glitter pay off in one coat or they are easy to build up on their own in 2 to 3 coats. All in all, Shimmer Polish has never disappointed in formula!

Alessandra is described as a coral red glitter polish. All nails are 1 coat of Alessandra over 2 coats of Initial Lacquer Nocturne and matted with Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love.
Elsa has a clear base with turquoise, gold and red glitters. These photos are 1 coat over 2 coats of Too Fancy Lacquer Bejeweled.
Jacki is various violet, navy and maroon glitters in a a purple tinted base. Here is 3 coats over bare nail with top coat.

Sonia contains a mixture of various lavender, pink and gold glitters. Shown is a gradient with Sonia over 2 coats of Nail Tisane Lion's Mane.
Tammy has a variety of black, purple, gold and silver glitters. All nails are 1 coat of Tammy over 4 coats of Nail Tisane Lavender Frosting.

Initial Lacquer Winter 2013 Collection Reviews & Swatches

I hope all my stateside readers are full and happy after a great Thanksgiving feast! :D I have even more swatches to share with you this evening, this time the new winer collection from Initial Lacquer! :)

Counting Stars is described as a black jelly base with random color flakies. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
In low light this polish does appear just to be black, but in the sun it really sparkles. :) Formula was great and it's a nice twist on a black polish!
First Day of Winter is a light blue crelly base with matte white rectangles and hexes, yellow hexes and hot pink dots. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
I wish the real day of winter had pink dots! ;) I love the small rectangles in this mix (you can see them in the next polish too!) and how they are too large but still are something fun and different. :) Formula  of First Day of Winter was pretty thick and I did need to thin it a tad to get it to flow onto my nail easier. I think the overall look is worth it though! :)
Frozen Rainbow has a clear base with a mixture of white, pale yellow, gray, yellow, hot pink and purple matte glitters in various shapes and sizes. These photos show 2 coats of Frozen Rainbow over 3 coats of LWP.
Frozen Rainbow just sounds yummy doesn't it? :P This polish does look good enough to eat too! ;) It is a tad thick, yet I had no problem getting out any of the glitters and they are look so beautiful together! :D
Golden Glow is a combination of black, silver and gold holographic hexes in various sizes all in a clear base. Here is 1 coat of Golden Glow over 3 coats of Counting Stars.
Holy bling! :P Not only is it super bling-tastic, it has some awesome larger dots and hexes! It was a tad thick though it was easy to get out all of the glitters including the larger ones, but I think it should be called Blinding Gold instead! :P
LWP (or Little White Polish) contains gold, silver and iridescent glitters in a white base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Hehe the acronym for LWP is too cute! :D Initial Lacquer has a knack for making beautiful white polishes with an added touch! While I couldn't capture the sparks this polish has, they are there and very soft and subtle. I think this is a perfect work appropriate polish, if you are in the market for one! :) To top is off formula was a breeze to work with.
Nocturne is described as a deep grey with silver shimmer plus micro holographic glitters. Here is 2 coats with top coat.
Love this polish! It's not too dark and the added sparks really make it something else! :) Formula was super easy to work with and I got plenty of glitters out with each coat!
Red Steel has a shimmery red base with mirco fine red, black holo and red circle glitter. Shown is 2 coats with top coat
Another great color! The glitters compliment each other and the base color well.  You do have to be careful to do a little bit thinner coats so the shimmery base and glitters don't give off a "lumpy" look, but the formula made this easy to do and was overall easy to work with. :)
Star Align contains purple and silver holographic hexes in a deep blurple base with red shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
This polish reminds me of The Rainbow Fish, hopefully I'm not the only one to see that! ;) Formula was a tad on the thicker side, but workable and the glitters show through the base color perfectly. :)
