Model City Polish Reviews & Swatches

Back for round 2 for the day! ;) When Model City Polish asked me if I would prefer to have these polishes scented or unscented I jumped at the scented versions! I'm not the best at describing scents, my usual response is "it smells good" or "I don't like it" :P, but I tried. ;)

Bobbing for Apples has a clear base with iridescent, red hex and red circle glitters. It's available in apple scent. Shown is 2 coats of Bobbing for Apples over 2 coats of Nail Rock Pen Purple with top coat.

Love this polish! The red circles are fabulous and I'm always a sucker for iridescent glitters. ;) Formula was perfect; I didn't need to "fish" for any of the circle glitter. It has a nice, crisp apple smell to it and like all 3 of these polishes, the smell lasts even with a top coat. :)

The Great Pumpkin Massacre is loaded with orange and black holographic glitters in a clear base. It's available in pumpkin bread scent. All nails are 1 coat over 2 coats of Illamasqua Radium with top coat.

It wouldn't be Halloween without orange and black!  The Great Pumpkin Massacre is clearly a perfect Halloween mixture with a fabulous scent to boot. The scented version smells just like pumpkin bread, it even has a hint of cinnamon that makes me want to chew on my nails. :P Again another great formula! 

Witch's Brew contains a mixture of blue, silver, green, black and iridescent glitters. It's available in fruit punch scent. Here is 1 coat of Witch's Brew over 3 coats of OPI Hi Pumpkin! with an accent nail of 3 coats of Witch's Brew over bare nail.

Witch's Brew that smells like fruit punch, woo-hoo! The smell reminds me of a a tall glass of yummy fruit punch. :) The coverage of this polish is great and in 1 coat it gave a perfect even application. As you can see, it's easy to build up this polish for full coverage if you like. I love how the added iridescent glitters add a nice spark amongst all the other glitters. :)

Don't let my bottle deceive you, I did receive this bottle full I just have been using it a lot over the last few days! :P It soaks in quickly and leaves my cuticles nice and soft. The scent smells just like candy corn without being overly sweet. :)

Takko Lacquer Strangely Delicious RVMP

Hey guys! I have 2 posts for you all today, it was going to be 3 but I felt that maybe too much. :P So first up is just a quick post with Takko Lacquer's Strangely Delicious RVMP. :)

 Strangely Delicious RVMP is described as a vibrant neon red-orange full with glistening limey green. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.

I knew as soon as I saw this polish in person my camera would say "LOL you aren't getting correctly colored pictures with this polish" and I was right! :P It's super bright, think traffic cone orange. The coverage of this polish is a bit odd. In certain lights, even with 3 coats, visible nail still can be seen. I don't think I have any other polishes that do something like that and I have no idea why it does that. Nevertheless it is super bright, so it's a love for me. ;)

KBShimmer Proud Peacock, Showgirl and Watercolor Reviews & Swatches

I'm sure plenty of you are eagerly awaiting KBShimmer's Fall collection to be released, so to tide you over I have a few polishes available from them now! :)

Proud Peacock is as a dusty teal green base is accented with blue, black, white, navy, teal and fuchsia glitters in various shapes and sizes. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.

 This polish has tons going on, as do all the polishes in this post. ;) The good thing though is they just goes together so well! It is very peacock-like so Christy hit the nail on the head! :P Formula was great and I got plenty of glitter out with no need to fish. :)

Showgirl has a sheer black base with various rose, fuschia, black, silver and pink glitters. All nails are 3 coats with top coat. 

 Showgirl is super flashy, just like a showgirl! :P The larger black squares are awesome and really stand out in the black base. I think the black hexes would stand out better if I had layered this over another color, instead of build it up, but I think they added a nice depth to the overall look. As always from KBShimmer, it had a perfect formula.

Watercolor contains a mixture of blue, purple, pink and silver glitters in a bright blue base. Here is 3 coats with top coat.

How serene is this polish?! The base alone is gorgeous and all the added glitter, in my favorite colors might I add, make it even better. :) It really reminds me of a dreamy watercolor painting. ;) I know I'm forever a broken record saying this with KBShimmer polishes, but it had a great formula. :)

Lucky 13 Lacquer Reviews & Swatches

Hi there everyone! I know I was M.I.A. on Friday. I had so many little things I had been planning to do and they all caught up to me over the weekend. >_< That being said, I have a "new to the blog" brand for everyone's viewing pleasure today- Lucky 13 Lacquers! Lucky 13 Lacquers is described as "nerdy, nostalgic, and unique nail polish" and while I don't read much fiction or have the patience to sit through any movie over 2 hours long, I can tell you they make some gorgeous polishes! :)

A Leaf on the Wind is a sky blue jelly base with tiny silver and medium light green glitters. These photos are 3 coats with top coat.

Google had to help me with this, like most of these. :P I actually have watched Firefly (this polish is inspired by the movie Serenity based on the series), but I couldn't get really into past a few episodes. :X Never the less this is a awesome, fun polish and has an excellent formula. :)

Bikini Bottom is described as a pale beige crelly with tiny brown, blue, red, and yellow glitters. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.

A polish I do recognize the inspiration for! Good ole' Spongebob Squarepants! I know this seems silly, but I really love how subtle this polish is given it's inspiration. :) It's not so in your face with tons of yellow and blue glitters, though if you know the name you instantly get where the colors come from. :) Formula was again great!

Golden Snitch has a pale cream crelly base with all different sizes of gold and holographic gold hex. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.

I don't know much about Harry Potter and you don't need to either, to see how beautiful and delicate this polish is! ;) Seriously I am totally in love with this color! It was the first one I put on when I received my package from Lucky 13 Lacquers and didn't take it off all weekend. :) Formula was again awesome and I didn't need to fish for any of the larger golden hexes. Go buy it wether you are a Harry Potter fan or not!

You Can't Take the Sky from Me contains various sizes of silver glitters in a shimmery charcoal jelly base. Here is 3 coats with top coat. 

 If you are looking for a black polish with a kick, this is it! ;) I love the hidden shimmer it has and how the silver glitters pop against the jelly base. Even though Google had to help me find that this polish was inspired by Firefly, I still got the space vibe from it before I knew. :)

KBShimmer Fall Collection 2013 Reviews & Swatches

Hey there everyone! I have a great new collection from KBShimmer to share with you today. This collection contains a little bit of everything, even if you are like me and not ready for Fall! :P I'll just say now: none of the polishes gave me any problems with dry time (even the mattes), formula or having to fish out glitter. So you don't have to listen to that over and over again! :P

Every Nook & Cranberry is a cranberry satin matte polish with pink and gold shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.

This polish is more pink than my photos lead you to believe, but it's beautiful none the less! Even with it's matte finish the shimmer stands out and I actually  prefer it matte. Don't get me wrong though, it looks great with top coat too! ;)

 Excuse Me, I Blurpled is described as a shade not quite blue, not quite purple with glitters in shades of blue, purple, with a hint of copper. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.

I'm always a sucker for purples, blue and blurples; and this is no exception! I think the copper glitters add a nice "spark" to the over all look and make it stand out from anything I already own. :)

 Teal Another Tail is a dusty teal/green polish with pink shimmer and flecks of blue. These photos are 2 coats with top coat. 

This polish is amazing!! Definitely stalk the KBShimmer site on on September 1st, when this collection is released, to grab this beauty! It does dries with an almost texture finish, but smooths out perfectly with a top coat. :)

Turbulence is a slate gray matte with flecks of blue and fuchsia. All nails are 3 coats with no top coat. 

Like Every Nook & Cranberry, I prefer this in it's "true form", but it looks great either way, and the shimmer really stands out without top coat. What would Fall be without a great gray!

 Vicious Circles contains silver holographic circles, hexes and micro slices in a blood red jelly base. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.

This is a really unique combo of base color and glitter! All the variations of holographic pieces really pop out and shine through the red jelly base to make your nails look like they are one fire...in a good way! :P Of course, like many, I love circle glitters and love the micro slices KBShimmer uses! :D

You Autumn Know is a mixture of fuchsia, gold and orange glitters, including micro slices, in a white crelly base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.

Where to begin!? The name is awesome, because who doesn't love Alanis Morissette, the color combination is spot on and again I'm a sucker for those micro slices! You could layer this over white, if you wanted to save on polish, yet I think the "crelly" base on it's own aids to the over all look. ;) 

 You Go Ghoul! is described as black jelly with glitters in grape, berry and orange. Here is 3 coats with top coat.

Hello Halloween! And more micro slices *squeal*!  The glitters really pop against the black jelly base and gives it a nice spooky effect. ;) Similar to You Autumn Know, you can layer this over black if you choose, though I do prefer the "squishiness" the jelly base gives off on it's own. :P
