Charlotte Russe Light Mint & Purple Combo

Happy Friday! This week went by way too quickly! :P I can't believe March is almost upon us. Did the New Year happen like yesterday? >_< I bought these polishes a few weeks ago after seeing someone show off their bottle of Light Mint online and mentioning it was a close dupe to Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid Dream. These bottle don't have names listed on the bottle (curse them!) so I used the ones listed online because I think they sound better than my horrible ones: "Mermaid Dream Dupe" and "Purple Glitter Amazingness". :P

 Light Mint has a sea foam green frosty base with smaller blue glitter and micro gold glitter. All nails are 2 coats of Light Mint with 2 coats of Seche Vite. 

While I don't own Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid Dream, I can say from looking at pictures this is a pretty close, if not exact, dupe of it. I was on the fence about buying Mermaid's Dream because I wasn't sure if I really loved the colors and for $19 a bottle I like to be at least 70% sure I'm going to love it. :P Well I do love this color and for $3 say it was a good gamble! ;) It is very top coat hungry, with 2 coats to top coat I still didn't get a super shiny glass finish or feeling on my nail, but I didn't mind. :)

Purple Combo has a clear base with various sizes of light blue and purple holographic hex glitter. I used 1 coat of Purple Combo over the dark gray from the Physicians Formula 3 Shades of Gray trio (post here) and a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Formula was a little thick on this one, but it wasn't a problem to work with. Having my two favorite colors (purple and blue) in a glitter holographic form pretty much means I'm guaranteed to love it. And I do! ;)

Lynnderella Little Slice Of Heaven, Pentimento & Witch Cauldron Was It?

I have a few more, and there are many more to come >_<, polishes I have been meaning to swatch and haven't gotten around to it until now. The bottle shots with these were done with my new camera, so I apologize that the close up shots don't look as amazing. I took these swatches a few days ago to give myself a few days to play with my new camera :P I liked the bottle shots so much though I included them in this post even if they look a bit off in comparison. Anyways, on to the Lynnderella polishes!

Little Slice of Heave is described as assorted translucent neon pink and white glitters with a hint of blue iridescence and cool hot pink shimmer in a clear base. All nails are 2 coat of Little Slice of Heaven over 2 coats of Physicians Formula light gray (post here) with no top coat.

A light gray was probably not the best choice to layer this polish over because the white glitters got lost on it. But hey look how it made those pink glitters pop! Fun game: try to find the star glitter in the close up shot below! :P It took me a little bit to figure it out after I took photos and it was still on my nails. >_<

Pentimento is a predominantly white, multi glitter mix. I used 2 coats over Pure Ice Last Chance (post here) and a top coat of Seche Vite.

I've used Pentimento before, just never showed it off on here, and I have to say it looks amazing over any color you choose! ;) When I was swatching the Pure Ice polishes from the last post, I knew Last Chance needed a fun glitter mix over top with it and Pentimento just screamed out "Pick me!". Well played Pentimento, well played.

Witch Cauldron Was It? is a little bit of everything from Lynn's amazing glitter filled pot. Orange glitters making up a majority of the color. Here I used 2 coats of Witch Cauldron Was It? over MAC Steamy and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Not sure why I chose to layer this over pink. Could be because Steamy is my go to pink polish and it was looking a little lonely in the drawer or because I'm still on a Valentine's Day kick. Either way Witch Cauldron Was It? looks great over pink and even gives off a Spring time look. Polishes can be worn anytime of year, no matter which holiday they were created for. ;)

Physicians Formula Endless Color Custom Nail Trio: Three Shades of Gray

I picked up this set a few days ago at Walmart and figured it was about time to share it ;) I've been on a big drugstore kick lately! :P It's nice to see easy to obtain brands coming out with a lot of great new colors and sets to please us nail fanatics! :P

I completely forgot to take a photo of the front of the box before throwing it away >_< But you can see the front and the 6 other trios available on Nouvea Cheap here. You can also click the photo and enlarge it to read the ingredients list.

Unfortunately none of these colors have their own names, so I will show them show them in order of how they came in the box. First up, is a light gray cream. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.

The second color in this set is a dark silver foil. I used 2 coats with no top coat.

Last, but not least, is a dark gray with silver shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.

Since this trio is geared toward having a little fun with nail art with it, I figured I would give it a shot!

 I did have a little trouble stamping the silver shimmer, but this maybe from me being a novice at stamping. ;) 

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this set! The gray cream was a tad streaky without a top coat, yet it and all the others still dried with an average dry time and were easy to work with. For the price, suggested retail price of $10.95, I think they are worth it. The bottles contain a tad more than an OPI mini (an OPI mini is .125 Fl. Oz./3.75 mL and each of these bottles are .15 Fl. Oz./4.4 mL). Even though the bottles are small they are much easier to worth with than an OPI mini and have a bit wider brush. The stacking feature doesn't appeal to me personally because I keep my polishes in "melmers". If you keep yours in polish racks, I think when stacked they would help free up a little room for more polish. ;)

KBShimmer A Dot Mess, Get Clover It and Squared Away Reviews & Swatches

If you didn't realize, I totally slacked on posting yesterday. >_< Between general life craziness and my fiddling around with my new camera it just didn't happen. So today I will have 2 posts up both featuring products from KBShimmer. :)

A Dot Mess has a clear base with fuchsia and black dots, small and mini hexes, and micro slices. All nails are 2 coats over 2 coats of OPI Pink Friday and a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top (will post on this soon).

Formula was great! No need to fish for any glitter and it dried quickly. I know not everyone likes bar glitter (shame on you! :P), though I think even if you aren't you will love this polish. The tiny bar glitters, or micro slices as KBShimmer calls them, are very small and subtle. They provide an extra bit of shimmer and help break up it away from being just a circle glitter mix. 

Get Clover It is an emerald green jelly with micro shimmer and green, gold and turquoise circle glitter. I used 3 coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

While my camera and lighting make this appear to be a bit splotchy looking, I can assure it's not in normal settings. The green jelly base doesn't over power the glitters and still lets the pop out. Color wise I'm not normally a fan of greens, but this one is a keeper and must have for any polish lover, green lover or not! Formula was worry free and no need to fish for any glitters, look how packed it is with glitters!

Squared Away is described as glitters in a variety of sizes, colors and finishes including metallic and holographic in a clear base. All nails are 2 coats of Physicians Formula dark grey from their 3 Shades of Grey set with 2 coats of Squared Away and finished off with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Formula was once again perfect. I had no trouble getting out any glitters and all of them laid nice and flat on my nails. I love not only the mixture of colors, but the larger squares as well! I like it over a darker base and I'm sure it will look great over a variety of other colors. :)
